Welcome to the W M Law Kansas City Bankruptcy blog!  This being our first Kansas City bankruptcy blog post, we’ll keep things short.  If you are here looking at this blog, chances are, you’re having some financial difficulty.  Take solace in knowing that a very large percentage of Americans contemplate filing bankruptcy, whether it be Chapter 7 Bankruptcy or Chapter 13 Bankruptcy, as most of us struggle with financial uncertainty many times throughout our lives.  This is especially true during times of significant change in our lifetimes, both good and bad:  graduating from college and trying to find that first “real” job, the start of repayment of student loans, getting married, starting a family, buying a home, furnishing that new home, serious illnesses, loss of job, and death of a loved one are just a few life changes that create financial pressure.

Keep in mind, that Kansas City bankruptcy is much like a “pressure relief valve”.  When financial pressures mount to the point where you can just no longer survive financially, Kansas City bankruptcy can provide the relief to get your financial situation back under control.  Kansas City bankruptcy is not about failure – it is about getting a fresh start financially to allow you to pay your bills, keep a roof over your head and food on your table.  Keep a healthy outlook towards Kansas City bankruptcy – it is OK to feel some shame in having to file Kansas City bankruptcy. Frankly, it would not be normal if you didn’t. But, don’t beat yourself up too badly.  Realize that many famous and successful people have struggled with terrible financial woes and bankruptcy:  Mark Twain, Walt Disney and Abraham Lincoln are just three good examples.  Keep a positive outlook and know that things will get better.  Remember, you file Kansas City bankruptcy to make things better – not to make things worse.
